Hi Patricia, The father of Thomas Giles was Leander Thomas Giles b. 1830 South Carolina and I just found out that he died during the Civil War 10 Oct. 1863 in a hospital in Atlanta, buried Oakland Cemetery. His father was Enoch Giles b. Abt. 1799 S.C. and Martha C. Bishop. Enoch was a son of William Giles Sr. of Chester Co. Camden Dist. S.C.     3. Teresa: May I ask how you are related to this family? My great grand aunt married Leander Giles so I am interested in them as well. How did you find out the middle name for Leander? I have only seen it written as Leander T. Giles. Please contact me.
