GA , ??(month), 1876, 24 yrs, 3 children b. 2 children living, wid. James (Polly son) listed b. TN, parents b. GA, b. Aug 1892, 7 yrs Nancy A. (Polly daug.) listed b. AL, parents b. GA, b. Mar 1897, 3 yrs We know how off the census records can be with dates & b. states. If James was the 1st child, then Polly would have been 16 yrs of age at birth, no too uncommon in those years for a female. The only info. I could find in any state for a Lee BETTIS is below - if this is your Lee, he would have been very, very young (13 yrs) to have sired James, plus this shows he was b. AL on the 1880 census and parents for James & Nancy shown as b.
