I am searching for any information on a Charley, Charlie,Charles (spelled either way) M. White. I located him in Coosa County, Alabama, in the Weogufka area. All I know about him his that he was the first man leagally hung in Rockford for killing a man, sometime between 1911 and 1914. I went to the courthouse there in rockford and could get no help in finding the records were he would have been hung. (I am clueless as to how to search for something like that-----and obviously the people who worked there were too.) He had several children, Mark, Major, Lonnie, Gertrude, Scott Henry, Levia. Charles White was born around 1853 (according to census records) in Alabama. He was married to Martha Jane Golden. I can find no record of him before the 1880 census. Need to know who his parents were and the date he was actually hung and what cemetery he was buried in. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rita
