Do you mean you don't think the old jail was in use in 1915? I don't remember when the one before this was built. I would think the records would be in the courthouse as well. This courthouse was built after the old one around the turn of the century, right? There are NO records in the jail about who was there, you would think they would be in the court house. I dont think the old jail was not in use in1915. He was hung there for killing a man. I believe it was around 1915 in Rockford. I am searching the White, Morris, Dunnaway, and Butler families of Coosa County. I went to the courthouse there in Coosa County but no one there could help me find the records on Charlie White. If anyone can help me find this information i will be very grateful. I need information on when and where he was hung and where he was buried. Lisa, The "old Jail" is the oldest jail in the State and we belive that this gives it more distinction. I am not sur the year that Coosa County stopped use the jail and built a new one. It has not been used as a jail in a long time. Wayne Sewell "Bannister, Lisa" <[email protected]> wrote: Do you mean you don't think the old jail was in use in 1915?
