I have seen the names of your relatives in some of the records in Coosa County when I have been there doing research. Quite a few of my maternal relatives still live there, in fact. The James Edison in my family three was the son of Freeman Edison and Mary Bradford. He was born in Coosa County. He married my blood relative, Myrtle Cook, and they had several children together. Many of their descendants live in the Talladega area today. It's possible that there was a connection between James and Millard in your family tree. We'll have to do some more research on that to uncover the link.
I don't know where in Coosa County your Ellis family lived, but there was an Ellis family (colored) who lived in Equality for many years. Bessie Ellis and her children............not sure of her husband's name. I know Bessie was living there as late as the 1960's or 70's. She used to work for my Great Aunt, Ruby Bross. Miss Bessie was a lovely lady.
