Moore or Rev. Lemuel Moore? Mark E. (1793, Laurens County, SC- 1877, Coosa County) was the son of Rev. Lemuel Moore. Mark E. moved from Shelby County into newly formed Coosa in 1833 and acquired extensive land in the vicinity of Central and Nixburg. Mark E.'s father, Rev. Lemuel Moore ( 1761, Northampton County, NC - 1826, Shelby County, AL) is buried at Harpersville. The stone mauseleum in which he, wife Orpha Byrd Moore and infant daughter are buried at Harpersville was recently restored and dedicated with an Alabama Historical marker. Lemuel had several known children in Shelby County including one named William. Mark had only one son, William Edwin Dubose Moore. William E.D. Moore, with a large family, moved to Woodland TX, in Freestone County, near Mexia in 1866. There his wife and two children died and he returned with the remaining children to Coosa County in 1871-2.
