I received a notice yesterday (may be old news to many) that the Research Room at the Alabama Archives in Montgomery will be open on Saturdays beginning October 7. The Research Room will be closed on Mondays and Sundays. Hours will be 8:30 - 4:30. This resumption of services was made possible through funding in the 2007 legislative budget. www.archives.alabama.gov/intro/hours.html Caroline, Prattville

Rootsweb has changed the alcoosa list to new servers beginning today. The new list names will be the same alcoosa@rootsweb.com Note the L has been removed. Old address alcoosa-L@rootsweb.com New address: alcoosa@rootsweb.com If you have filters, you should set them to allow mail from the list as: alcoosa@ROOTSWEB.COM (Doesn't have to be in capitals.) Both email addresses will still work for a while for sending e-mail but you may not receive it if you don't change it in your address book Remember those on the digest mode send their email to the new address of alcoosa@rootsweb.com Digest numbers will be out of sequence during the change over. A note for those members using AOL - there might a temporary delay in receiving list mail (on AOL's end). Make sure you check your spam folders, if you find any list mail there, click the THIS IS NOT SPAM button and read your mail in your inbox so the filters will be trained in regard to the new server. The main changes will be on my side in the Utility pages. Let me know if you have any concerns or questions. If I can't answer them, will find out the answer for us. I appreciate each of you and your understanding as we go through this change over. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

Hi, I have in my files an Eliza Mizzell, b. abt. 1844, dau. of Michael Mizzell and Mary Culpepper, of the Talladega Co. area. That's about all I know of this Eliza Mizzell except that her brother Jasper Newton married Nancy M. Phurrough in 1866, and her sister Mary Louisa "Lou" married James Morgan Lafayette Phurrough in 1869 in Talladega Co. (I connect thru the Phurrough line.) Is this the same Eliza Mizzell you are asking about? Deb Dame Doyline, LA -- willym111@yahoo.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
