I have him born in Pennsylvania about 1760, married to a Sarah (Sally) Upgrove, he died 1830 in Morgan County, Alabama. Their son, John Randolph VanSandt, born about 1810, Rutherford County, North Carolina, married Margaret Ann Wilhite, June 1830, Morgan County, Alabama, he died 1850, Alabama, (location unknown). Their son, John Robert VanSandt, born December 1831, Alabama, married Margaret Jane Aycock, 1854, Alabama, he died October 1911, burial location unknown at this time. Their son, my great, great grandfather, James Cyrus VanSandt, born May 1865, Morgan County, Alabama, married to Mary Rosella (Mollie) McCarley, 1885, he died December 1931, Morgan County, Alabama. Their daughter, my great grandmother, Elma Beatrice VanSandt, born 1888, Morgan County, Alabama, married to Rev. William Benjamin Bentley, about 1903 (location unknown), she died June 1971, Morgan County, Alabama. The name in ! your post that caught my attention besides James VanSandt was the name Garrett, or Gerrett. This name is familiar in my family line as well. Since I believe that family names get passed down through generations this is the link that makes me believe these two family lines are connected. Do you have any information on James VanSandt's parents or where he might have originated from. I have a migration from Pennsylvania, to North Carolina, to Alabama.

Rebecca Roberson, b. abt. 1792 in SC, parents unknown, married John Causey in 1810 in Putnam Co. GA. In 1820, this couple is in Jefferson Co. GA. In 1821-1822, they move to what will become Coosa Co. AL. In 1850, John Causey, wife Rebecca & several children are enum. twice in Coosa Co., once in Hatchett Creek Dist. and once in Coosa District. At least 4 of the 10 children of John & Rebecca Causey move to northern LA beginning in the 1850s. Anyway, the surname Roberson pops up alot, even in LA. Here are a few of my Robersons that I don't have parents or much info on--please take a look & see if anyone is familiar to you. 1. Ezekiel "Zeke" Roberson, b. 1821 in GA, married Mary A. E. Morgan and Rachel Scarborough, died aft. 1900 in Lincoln Parish, LA. Had 13 children by the 2 wives. 2. Penelope J. Roberson, dau. of unkn. I lose track of her after 1900, husband David Causey d. 1904, buried at Pine Level Cem., Autauga Co. AL. 3. And of course, my g-g-g-grandmother, Rebecca Roberson, married John Causey 1810 Putnam Co. GA, in Coosa Co. by 1822, see first paragraph. If you can shed some light on any of these folks, I'd appreciate it. Would be happy to share what I have. Deb Dame Doyline, LA
