I have done a lot of research lately on the Corley family as it relates to the Fulmer and Ashcraft families. I have no Corley photos either, but have lots of Neighbors photos. Is your James Harmey or Charity Francis a descendent of Billy Neighbors with the 22 children? I have made contact with other Corley descendents in Texas and Arkansas. My Corleys descend from Richard Woody Corley born in SC in 1802, spent a big part of his life in Coosa county, and then died in Amity Arkansas in 1879. Let me know if these match any of your family. I am going to look up Laura and her dad, Albert to see how exactly they are related to me. I am so glad to hear from you. I always like to know as much family as possible. After we all grow up and the old folks pass on, we lose our connections. That is not good! Because so much of my line came to TX after Reuben and extended family came, I have not known much about the ones who stay behind in Ala. My e-mail is janetgaston69@hotmail.com. If anyone has a Martha Jane Kelly who married Moses Moore in any of your family data, I would love to hear from you. Martha J. Moore applied for a pension on Moses Moore's civil war service time. Her application states that she was born Feb 13, 1836 in Talladega County. Martha and Moses were married on Feb 16, 1859 in Coosa County, but lived primarily in Chilton County. They are on the 1870 Census in Bibb County, name is spelled Moor. Appreciate any insight you may have. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. C. Kelly is listed in the 1860 Coosa Co.,census, initials only. I cannot find him after the war. Alabama did a State census in 1866, to find out how many sons were lost in the civil war, and my Jacob shows that four sons served, but two died. My g grandfather Tyre Kelly, survived, there were three others, one I have accounted for as his burial is recorded in a Northern prison, leaves two sons I have not accounted for. I think one was to young to leave home and I have found him in the home guard. This leaves a W. C. Kelly that must have died during the war. The info I have on this W. C. is from the 1860 census, and based on that data he would have been born ca 1841, and I know he would have been born in South Carolina. The strange part of all this is that the name Joseph Marvin runs in my Kelly line also. My g grandfather's brother was Joseph Si Louis Kelly who lived in Clanton, Alabama, (Chilton Co., AL). Joseph also named a son Joseph Marivn. http://www.palmettoroots.org/Family_Kelly.html The above site will take you to a history of my Kelly line. If you looked for the red III, Johannes Kolle, follow the line of son F. George Kelly b. 4 Oct 1782, thru son 6. Jaoob Kelly b. 6 Apr 1816, as this is the Kelly line that moved to Coosa Co. AL. These Kellys settled in Coosa/Elmore/Chilton County. If you will e-mail me with your address, I have a file I can send to you that has the family of Jacob documented if you want a copy. Could you please tell me who the parents were of your William C. Kelly? My line of Kellys came to Coosa County in ca 1848, My Jacob Kelly named his first son W. C. Kelly, but I can not find out what happened to this son. The name was probably William, as Jacob's wife's (Harriet Lybrand)father was William Lybrand. I saw the marriage data for this William C. Kelly and Sarah Lecroy and wondered who the parents of William C. happened to be. If this is the line I have, then I can take you back to the 1600's with a valid paper trail.
