The Carolina Cemetery is located in Elmore County, was in Coosa County until 1866, when Elmore was formed from parts of Coosa and Tallapoosa. This cemetery is listed in the books prepared by Coosa County Historical Society. It is located just off U.S. 231 as you enter Elmore county. V. Howard

Catherine: Is this Perry Lee the son of Henry Washington ? I'm trying to get my Family Tree maker file updated on the Blankenship's at Carolina but found I'm missing lots of the tree for the ones there. I also understand that the church or cemetery name has been changed. Does anyone know the correct name? Do the church records for the cemetery and the church members still exist? I do appreciate any help with my many questions. "Carolina cemetery" is located with the Trinity Methodist Church which used to be known as the Carolina Methodist Church. This area of Elmore Co. was settled with people from South Carolina. The Church and Cemetery is listed as being on Elmore Co., Road 211. The best way to the area is from highway 231. The Church and Cemetery is located just south of the County line between Coosa Co.and Elmore Co. If going south on 231, turn left on County Road 80, go about three or four miles, there is an area where county road 80 turns south, but County Road 465 goes straight. County road 211 crosses 465 and that is where the Church and cemetery is located. If you do get on 211 then the Church and Cemetery is located 1/2 mile north of Weoka. There is a web site which has some of the older records, but I can't seem to find tonight. You might try a search for Trinity Methodist, Elmore. The last time I was there the Church looked as though it was still in use. There is basically nothing in the area but pine trees. Ann Corum

Hi Sam; My name is Randy Thomas. I have Alabama JACKS in my family data base as my THOMAS's of Coosa County married into the JACKS line especially my g g grandmother. I'd love to swap family info with you if you have the time. Randy THOMAS
If anyone has info on the Jacks family in North AL (especially Plevna) and South TN, please contact me. This line is known to have originated in Wales. We have some info dating about 1600, but as always, there are many "holes" to fill. The old History of Coosa County has tree Jacks (Isaac, John and Sam). There is a John Townsend, but no George. Someway I am kin to some Townsends. They lived in the Eclectic part of Elmore County that use to be Coosa County. Elizabeth
