I, too, have Kelley ancestors on my mother's side. The John Kelly who came from Ireland in 1771 was about 21 years old. He married an Anna Hunter and a Margaret Snapp and had three sons, Andrew, John, ?. John Sr. fought in King's Mtn. conflict and a son, Samuel fought in Civil War. John was awarded bounty land and settled in Greene Co. Greeneville, TN where many family members still live in or around in Maryville and also in Townsend, TN. Some Kelley's also migrated into MO. I have a history of these Kelley's researched and compiled by Elizabeth Wade who was married to a Kelley.
