The Autauga Probate Office is located at 176 W. 5th St., 1 block from the Autauga County Courthouse in downtown Prattville. If everyone has left by 2 p.m. we will close early so don't wait til the last minute. Check the Autauga Genealogical Society website to link to a searchable index of most records. This index is not complete for all record books but the information that is found will provide a head start on locating family records. We will have use of the copier. Digital cameras are also great for making copies. Please remember to bring a copy of your family information to be put in the file cabinet by the Alabama Room at the Prattville-Autauga Library. My great, great, grandfather(ca. 1800). was Willis Wood. He had sons David (my great, grandfather ca. 1825) and Green.A. Wood. David Wood had son -Ezekiel Ky Wood. Called "KY". (my grandfather - 1861) David's brother Green .A. Wood was reported in Talladega county, Alabama, 1840-50's. He (Green) later shows up in Van Zandt county(Canton?) Texas in 1870. I lost them there.
