Wm Stanley, Sr. was my grandfather, his father was Charles Stanley Howell and his father was Bryant Stanley Howell, son of Bryant D. Howell. Bryant D. was born in 1800 in Ga. Family legend states he moved there or his father migrated from N.C. It seems most Howells did originate in N.C.. Right now, I'm looking for another male Howell cousin who can join the DNA project. (one who is a closer cousin). The other 2 I've matched trace their families to Etheldred Howell, who migrated from Scotland to N.C.
