I included the Hawseys because it looks as if Henry's mother was probably Joicy HAWSEY. The only other Douglas on that census was the James Douglas, age 57, from VA. He lived two dwellings from Adeline and Elisha JOINER. Adeline and Elisha were next door to Bennett and Delilah Joiner LEE, parents of Permelia LEE Douglas. Also, I believe the 4-yr.-old Joicey next door was actually Joicy Saphronia Hawsey who later married George W. Notes for William Ebbert Douglas: A descendant says his middle name was Ellis. I got the name Elbert/Ebbert for William E. Douglas's middle name off the 1880 census (of course, the census taker could have made a mistake or the person who gave the census taker the names). He is listed as **William in 1870 in Monroe Co. and listed as **Ebbert or Elbert in 1880 in Conecuh Co and listed as **William again in 1900.
