James Monroe." ------------------- I am certain that you know the above facts.... but this gives even more weight to my 'theory' of Wm Witherington's service with the Mississippi Territory Militia in Alabama against the Creek Indians, sometime between 1813-1815. It was Gov. David Holmes that had signed Wm Witherington, Jr.'s Ensigns Certificate in July 1813. Bill
