    1. KINCHEN ELLIS and JOSIAH ELLIS in Butler County - also mention of William ELLIS
    2. Bill King
    3. EEB & Charlotte Pate, et al see mention of WILLIAM ELLIS (1830 Census) shown below which indicated that he was old enough to be the parent of Kinchen and Josiah Ellis. Could this possibly be YOUR William Ellis? Could Mary Ellis have been a sister of Kinchin, Josiah.... and possibly Joel? Think about it. Bill P.S. VERY GOOD info from 'Doc' Lee. Born before 1802. The land adjoined Kitchen Ellis so was probably kin. 1830 United States Federal Census Kinchin Ellis Not Stated, Conecuh, Alabama Name: Ellis, Knchin Township: Not Stated County: Conecuh State: Alabama Year: 1830 Roll: 3 Page: 98 1m<5 1m 20-30 1f<5 1f 15-20 This is on same page as Samuel Parker. The Parkers were down on the Conecuh River south of Damascus, (Now) Escambia county Al. The Church in the area was Elim Church and old records of this church must exist as some one found Samuel Parker listed there. I do not see Josiah listed in Alabama, but though you might be interested in Joel Ellis listed in Butler county, given that land records on Butler county line. Name: Ellis, Joel Township: Not Stated County: Butler State: Alabama Year: 1830 Roll: 2 Page: 302 Joel Ellis was 30-40 with 4 boys 5<-20. He is two houses from Philip Coleman who lived near Starlington. This is around 10 miles from Concord Cem. He had land south of Georgiana near rail line. The Colemans lived here also, and later are listed in Armadilo precicnt which was near Garland. 1850 Census Name: Kinchen Ellis Age: 50 Estimated birth year: abt 1800 Birth place: North Carolina Gender: Male Home in 1850 (City,County,State): Beat 8, Butler, Alabama Page: 233 Roll: M432_2 # 813/813 Kinchen ELLIS 50 m farmer NC Lucretia 45 f John 20 m farmer AL Mary 20 f Jeriah 18 m farmer (Looks more like Josiah) Eliza 15 f Milly 13 f Sarah 11 f Martha 9 f Luetta 7 f Amanda 1 f * I can't say where this is, but looks like my area of study, north of Mckenzie Alabama. Ancestry.com also has Jeriah listed as Josiah. Josiah Ellis Beat 8, Butler, AL abt 1832 So, Kichen Ellis was born abt 1800 in NC, Bought land near Concord cemetery January 01, 1822, there he lived next to Josiah Ellis born about the same time, and named a son Josiah Ellis. They may have been in the southern part of Conecuh, now Escambia county, Damascus, Elim church area on 1830 census. Elijah Hobbs and some of the Parkers migrated north to the southern part of Butler county. Elijah Hobbs by 1840, the Parkers by early 1860. Kichen and Josiah Ellis both moved to Butler county by 1840. Kichen Ellis may not have been down on Conecuh River. I don't know that. But land records & census look that way. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill King Charles L.
