Gus was the younger brother of our John Witherington of Calhoun County, ARK. ...Gus was murdered at Moro Bay in Bradley County, AR in 1869, shortly after the Civil War. At the time he operated a store and the ferry across the Ouachita River between Moro Bay and Pidgeon Hill (in Union Co, AR).
