    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HENDRIX, BUTLER, GRACE, MIMS, SAWYER, BETTS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4R.2ADE/972 Message Board Post: I am at a standstill researching my Conecuh County (Monroe County, too) roots...hopefully someone out there can help. Bear with me, this may ramble a bit: My 2nd gr grandmother, Caroline Grace, was married first to Henry Mims...they had four children...Sarah, Thomas, David, and Elizabeth...their daughter Sarah married James Piggot in about 1848...Caroline Mims married John Butler after Henry Mims died, probably between 1850 and 1855...John and Caroline Butler lived on her land in Conecuh Co., during which time my great-grandmother, Josephine (middle name probably Caroline) Butler was born in 1856. John Butler died about 1862, and in 1867 Caroline Butler married Nathan Hendrix (originally of Monroe County) in Conecuh Co. Nathan Hendrix had had a son named Richard by his first wife, thus Richard Hendrix and Josephine Butler were now step-brother and sister. As fate would have it, Richard and Josephine got married, and their daughter Corine Hendrix is my grandmother. My questions include: Did John and Caroline Butler have any other children? Did John Butler have any family in Conecuh? There are several Butlers around Conecuh County, but I've not been able to isolate my John Butler...I've found a few of the same name in Confederate Army units, but can't identify him as one of these soldiers, either (he would have been 30 or 31 at the outbreak of the war). Since I've not been able to locate a grave for John Butler, could he be buried in the Piggott Cemetery or another cemtery where Piggotts or Mims are buried? Caroline moved to Pensacola, FL and the last time I can locate her anywhere is 1898...I can't find her grave anywhere around Pensacola, so I wonder if she may have moved back to AL, where she died while living with one of her Mims children...thus, she might also be buried near a Mims or a Piggott or maybe even a Grace, which was a rather large family in Monroe County. Any info relating to ANY of this would be greatly appreciate! d!
