She was a native of Monroe County, born on November 25, 1893, to the late Mrs. Mattie Beasley, but lived in recent years in Evergreen. Mrs. Lett joined the Savannah Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her health failed. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Heroines of Jericho. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 8, at 2:30 o'clock from the Savannah Baptist Church, Riley-Beatrice, AL, with the Rev. G. H. Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Cemetery, Presley Funeral Home directing. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Marshalle Young, Cincinatti, Ohio, Mrs. Annie M. Sanders, Beatrice, Mrs. Essie M. Northern and Mrs. Hilma Lett, both of Evergreen; five sons, Walter L. Stallworth, Parrot, GA., Chester Stallworth, Chester, PA, Marcellus Lee, Cincinatti, Arnold Lett, Los Angeles, CA, and J. W. Lett, FL; two brothers, Marcellus Smith, Cincinatti, and Walter Stallworth, Beatrice; 41 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 36 great great grandchildren, and 10 great great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
