Parsons" and Isaac Carter purchased 80 acres in Conecuh County: # 1, Aliquot Parts W ½ NW, Sec/Blk 22, Twnshp 6-N, Range 9-E (Document # 1439) on 4-8-1825. Enoch Parsons is listed in the 1830 Conecuh Co, AL census (page 110). There is no one else listed in the household. According to “Goodspeed’s History of Tennessee”, Enoch Parsons was a prominent attorney who was one of the first settlers in Blount Co, TN. He ran for governor in 1819 and was defeated. Soon after, he removed to Alabama. He purchased quite a bit of federal land in Conecuh County.
