Can you document it? There is no doubt that my great-great grandmother was the Reverend's sister, but she was not Joshua's daughter.

Maj. A.J. Hawthorne died on the Sabbath the 25 th ult. in Greenville. He was a true Odd Fellow, Faithful Mason and church member ( 8/30/1877) Rev. K. Hawthorne, aged father of Major A. J. Hawthorne and Rev. J. B. Hawthorne died suddenly in Greenville Tuesday. The old gentleman was with his son, the Major, in his last illness and doubtless his grief at his son's death and extreme age caused the silver thread to break and let his spirit free to join his loved one.
