My gr father James Johnson of Conecuh married first Augusta Tomlinson (wife of a brother who was killed in War Between States; and 2nd to Margaret Melissa Kelley d/o James Kelley and Sarah C. Sims who were married in Talladega; at some point moved to Conecuh. Through census of 1840 Conecuh Co: George Johnson age 70/80, 1 female 20/30, 1 f 70/80. 1850 Census Conecuh: George Johnson, sen. 90 SC; Sarah 77 SC. 1860 Census Conecuh: John Johnson 58 SC; Nancy G. 48 GA; James 17 AL; Caloway 15 AL; Drusilla 14 AL; Clementine 12 AL; Caroline 22 AL, Palestine 9 AL AND Sarah 90 SC. (John & Nancy in 1850 had older children) Also in is one George Johnson 30 SC and wife Eliza 29 SC and children. This is s/o of George Senior and brother to my James and found later in Escambia Co FL. Somewhere back there, these Johnsons must connect somehow - but how?
