JOINER 1-16-1881 by David Kendrick in Conecuh Co., Ala. Joseph DICKENS married Mary Jane DOBBS 1-4-1880 by David Kendrick in Conecuh Co., Ala. ------ I made a note of the marriages above from a book called Conecuh Co. Marriages compiled by Whatley and Coker. Does anyone have this book? I'm trying to determine if I made a mistake copying the marriage dates/years (or maybe the book had an error) for Samuel and Joseph DICKENS. The marriage dates I have don't seem to match the census info above. If the dates in the book and my notes are correct, then the Sam and Joe who married may not be the ones in the census, even though their wives had the right names to match later census info I have on what seems to be the same people in Starlington, Butler Co., Ala. in 1900. Anyway, I would like information on this family because I have reason to believe they are the family of the Mary A. DICKENS who married Marion Taylor BROOKS Sept. 17th, 1874, in Butler Co. Mary A. Dickens BROOKS died before the 1880 census because Taylor Brooks is in the HH of his mother (Rachel BROOKS) that year, widowed, with two daughters. Further BROOKS and DICKENS info can be found on the Butler Co. Ala. message board.
