Navalou Graham Otts Loxley Mrs. Navalou Graham Otts, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005. She was a native of Escambia County, Ala., and a resident of Loxley. She was retired from Vanity Fair with more than 30 years of employment. She is survived by her husband, Adron H. Otts of Loxley; two daughters, Sheila Farver of Bay St. Lewis, Miss., and Janet (Richard) Lucey of Cario, Ga.; a son, Adron F. Otts of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Debbie Otts Niblock, Connie Otts Campbell, Daniel Farver, Byron Farver, Alabama Lucey, Missy Lucey Roberts and Mathew Lucey; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery in Huxford with Mack Funeral Home directing. Roger Vincent Salter Sr. Flomaton Mr. Roger Vincent Salter Sr., 81, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at a Jay hospital. He had been a resident of the Flomaton area since 1956, coming from Castleberry. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the infantry in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He retired from Kelley Brothers Contractors of Flomaton and was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Montrie E. Salter, 10 siblings and one grandchild. He is survived by two sons, Roger V. Salter and Larry E. Salter, both of Flomaton; two daughters, Beverly S. Simpson of Flomaton and Pamela S. Meiners of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchilden. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Patterson, the Rev. Jeff Howard and the Rev. Ralph Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were John V. Mitchell, Joseph E. Mitchell, James Clay Simmons, Travis Salter, Richard Cody Salter and Jacob M. Bonds. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons and the Men's III Sunday school class at Little Escambia Baptist Church and Robert Tolbert. Mary Tove Lowery Brewton Mrs. Mary Tove Lowery, 34, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at her Brewton residence. She was a native of Brewton and a resident of Brewton for most of her life. She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Andrew Lowery of Brewton; her mother, Mary S. Madsen of Brewton; a brother, Peter Madsen of Denmark; a sister and brother-in-law, Amy Madsen and Larry Aycock of Brewton; and a niece, Jessica Madsen. A memorial service was held on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 5 p.m. at Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. William Joyner officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing. Ernestine Herrington Brewton Miss Ernestine Herrington, 82, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, in a Chipley, Fla. healthcare facility. She was a native of Munson, Fla., and a member of Elim Baptist Church. She is survived by her brother, E.L. "Von" Herrington of Crestview, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. at Elim Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Lambert officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing Gladys B. Sellers Brewton Mrs. Gladys B. Sellers, 72, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at a local hospital. She was a native of Conecuh County and had been a resident of the Brewton area for most of her life. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Rickard of Brewton; a brother, Cecil Brittingham of the Pineview community; two sisters, Pauline Strength and Margie Evans, both of the Pineview community; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many other relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbur Graves officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. George Eugene "Gene" Dubose Damascus Mr. George Eugene "Gene" Dubose, 74, died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at his residence in Damascus. He was a native of Covington County and a long time resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was of the Holiness faith, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and was a retired logger. He is survived by his wife, Betty Haveard Dubose of Damascus; one son, Paul L. Dubose of Brewton; three daughters, Loretta (Huey) King of Bradley, Sheila D. (Curtis) Hardy of Milton, Fla., and Imogene (Jim) Brown of East Brewton; three brothers, Charles Dubose and Billy Dubose, both of Damascus, and Delmas Dubose of East Brewton; three sisters, Marlene Pate of Brewton, Margie Johnson of East Brewton and Wilma Williams of Rock Creek; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Douglas Chapel Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
