Hello: Jan, I don't seem to have a Daniel Johnson in my family that I could prove. In my books there is reference to Daniel Johnson, with whom I did not make a connection. It seems that my father did talk of a Dan Johnson though. In the family of George Washington Johnson, Conecuh Co AL: 1860 Census: Johnson, George 31 b AL Martha 29 AL Henrietta 4 AL Mary 2 AL James 10/12 AL 1870: " Martha 40 AL Henrietta 17 AL Elly 12 AL Daniel 7 AL A duplication of 1870 census shows: Martha 48, Henrietta 15, Eleanor 9 and Dan C. 6. 1880: Johnson, Martha 50 AL Nancy E 18 AL John D. 15 AL George and Martha lived near Breckenridge and Guice's Old Mill, near Evergreen AL. In the 1970's the homestead was still in the hands of descendants. Records of the Witherington Cemetery in Lyeffion Community, or nearby, show that Henrietta and George W., Jr. are buried there. Nancy Eleanor married B. McMillan and moved to Many, Louisiana, leaving her share of the estate to her brother, "Dan" whose descendants owned the place at that time. George and Martha are buried in Witherington Cem. I kind of think these belong somewhere in my family but don't know where. I did two books on the Johnsons. I am sure there were Johnsons in Conecuh Co that I could not connect because the courthouse burned 3 times. My father had a good memory and the names he gave me, I was able to locate through profuse letter writing in 1960's and 1970's. Almost all the Johnsons who came into Conecuh Co early (1820's, 1830's etc) were from SC. Do you have information on the Stith family? I think I have Stith ancestry from Virginia and into NC, I believe it is. In
