Surnames: Sanford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4R.2ADE/991 Message Board Post: My Sanford line comes from Alabama.I have never met any of the Sanford's.My Grandfather was a Sanford.His name was Raymond Earl Sanford.He was born May 16,1920 in Al,and died in San Luis Obispo, California(California men's colony which is a prison). June 9th 1969.He left my grandmother Thelma Strength who lived in Montgomery,Al when my daddy was 5 or 6 yrs old.My dad never saw him again.He then moved to Los Angelos,Ca.Thelma and Raymond had three kids,Donald,Shirley,and Betty Sanford.Donald is my father.He passed away March 28th 1997.My Grandmother died 1n Montgomery in 1980.She worked in a cafe.My Grandmother never spoke of my Grandfather at all.I have spent years trying to find my Sanford line.I wanted to do it before my daddy died,so he could know some of his relatives,but that didn't happen.On my Grandfather's death record it shows his parents to be Will Sanford(unknown)and Gertrude (unknown).Anyone who knows anything about my line please contact me at [email protected]!
