Notes for Leroy Page: <From Marsena Hawk on 3-11-2001> In message from Kay Anderson of Monroe County, AL: she says there were four Page boys in the 23rd Alabama Sharpshooters during a Civil War battle at Drewry's Bluff along the James River between Richmond and Petersburg. Joshua was killed, John W. was wounded in the fighting at Drewry's Bluff, went home from a Richmond hospital on August 18, 1864, and then returned after the end of the year. It also says Leroy was wounded in the side while serving in the trenches, admitted to a Richmond hospital on December 4, 1864, and returned to duty February 6, 1865. I'll bet this Leroy is the same fellow that married Catherine Dorinda Witherington. The three Page boys, with the exception of my Joshua, all enlisted on the same day in 1862 at Evergreen.
