William Witherington Sr. (1740-1819) - Rev. War Patriot William Witherington, Jr. (1773-1837) - Ensign in Mississippi Territory Militia Sarah 'Stanley' Witherington (1777-1845; wife of Wm. Jr.) Sarah Caroline Witherington (1816-1819; dau of Wm. Jr.) Amanda Witherington (1821-1821; dau of Wm. Jr.) William Witherington, Jr. served as an Ensign in the 17th Regiment, Mississippi Territory Militia, Capt. James Ward's Company, during 1813-1815 period. He likely served with the Mississippi Militia during the Creek Indian uprisings in Monroe & Counech Counties during 1813-1814. Location of the Ward-Witherington Cemetery is: NW Quarter of SW Quarter of Section 10, Township 7, Range 11 of Conecuh County, AL. This land was originally recorded to William Ward* in 1837.
