While visiting the library in Greenville a while back I found a surname file for Butler. It had a listing of "CHILDREN BORN TO RUBIN BUTLER IN HIS MARRIAGE TO NANCY WALLACE". This document was three pages long and very helpful to me as my great great grandmother was the first child, Elizabeth, who married William Cicero Deloney. The document had no indication of it's author who I would very much like to contact. Please contact me if you produced or know who produced this information. Hi, I have an interest in the BUTLER family. I'm not sure we are talking about the same family because I don't see an Elizabeth in my notes, but there is a Reubin Butler married to a Nancy. I research the surname MORRIS, and I have this Butler Co., Ala. marriage in my notes: BUTLER, A. J. 20 & MORRIS, Ella 22; Lic. date 25 Dec 1880, marr. date 26 Dec 1880 at R. W. Martins by Rubin Butler, page 113, volume 1880-1882 [from Mary Smith] Notice AJ and Ella were married by Rubin BUTLER. I believe this Ella MORRIS died before 1900, and A. J. BUTLER remarried Martha Unknown. Somewhere I have census notes on one Andrew J. BUTLER living in Conecuh Co. in 1910 and 1920 (married to Martha) with children from first and second wives in his household, but I can't find those notes right now. I'm not certain the Ella MORRIS who married AJ BUTLER in 1880 is "my" Ella MORRIS, but I took some "just in case" notes on a family I believe is this AJ Butler's family. They lived in Butler Co. Ala. 1850-1870 and Escambia Co. Ala. in 1880. Does the document you have contain any information on Andrew J. BUTLER?
