My grandfather's first cousin Bettie SALTER (b. 1894) married Thomas Lafayette SALTER (b. 1890). I was looking for Bettie Salter SALTER's obit in the old Conecuh Co. newspapers and found one for a Bettie SALTER who d. 1945; however, she (the subject of the 1945 obit) turned out to be the mother, not the wife, of T. L. SALTER. I believe the marriage you have in 1885 is the marriage of Thomas Lafayette SALTER (Sr.) to Bettie ANDREWS, parents of the T. L. SALTER (Jr.) who married my grandfather's first cousin. I found a Betty J. ANDREWS living near a Thomas L. SALTER in the 1880 census. I think they are the subjects of the 1885 marriage you have. ----- 1880 US Federal Census Place Belleville, Conecuh Co., Ala. SALTER on the 1880 census above to James William Salter, father of Albert Samuel Salter, father of Bettie Salter? Bettie Salter's husband, Thomas Lafayette Salter (Jr) is buried at Ramah Cemetery. I don't know if his wife Bettie is buried beside him or not, because I believe she died in Wilcox Co. in Jan 1976. If anyone has a listing of Ramah Cemetery, I'd appreciate a lookup for her. Thanks for reading. Corrections/Additions are always welcomed.
