12-10-1931 Butler County News North Conecuh Rev. Mr. WEAVER filled his regular appointment at New Hope Sunday. There was a fine congregation and the attention was good. Prof. Claud HIPP conducted the song service and the pastor closed with a beautiful solo. Relatives and friends gathered at father Acie S. KENDRICK's Sunday to celebrate with him his 90th birthday. It would require so much space the writer will not attempt to give the names of all those present, but suffice it to say all his children and most all the grand children were present. It may be remembered that this old father in Israel was born in Conecuh county, Ala. not far from the home where he now lives. It is a joy and pleasure to sit in company with one who has lived such a pure and beautiful life. Evidently from the life he has lived he said like one of old: "For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." His children, sons and daughters, are in line with their honored father, walking in his footsteps. A Confederate veteran, one of the few now living in Conecuh county. The golden rays that follow an unclouded sun__? are in his work to adorn the sitting and the passing of a useful and well-spent life.--A loved one.
