Hope you are safe after the terrible hurricane. I think most of the family/friends of Clant's in Red Level never knew much about his first wife and their boys since they had lived in central Florida. I know they visited AL from time to time. Clant married his second wife in 1939 when he was about 51 years old. I'll look forward to hearing from you again in the future.

Yes, Jack's (1926-2001) stepbrother was Julian. Julian Gray and Robert E. are from the second marriage with Veda. Durwood, Bev and Jack (all born in FL) are the sons from the first marriage to Paulyne. As for the children of James Stewart Sr. I have a lot more information on them including birth dates, marriages, their children etc, if you would like that. (David Jefferson was my gg grandfather and I descend from his son John Gray to Clant to Jack.) I would appreciate the sibling info on James Stewart Sr. when you have a chance to look for it. Thanks. Clant and my paternal grandmother were married in 1917 and divorced in 1937 and he returned to AL. Their He previously worked for the Railroad in central FL (Sanford/Orlando/Eustis). I never knew him although he met him as a baby once while visiting Red Level. ( His youngest son Jack from 1st marriage was my father.) THE EVERGREEN COURANT THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2005 PAGE 10 I had posted the other previous obit earlier this year..these are the remaining obits for the day: LORA SHARPE BENNETT Mrs. Lora Sharpe Bennett, age 99, a resident of Andalusia and formerly of McKenzie, died Monday, January 27, 2005 in an Evergreen hospital. She was born July 19, 1921, in Conecuh County. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Dan Cates officiating. Burial will be in Bushfield Cemetery, Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana officiating. Survivors include three daughters, Mazell Bennett and Lucy Davis, both of Andalusia and Nelda Bates, Evergreen; one son, Wayne Bennett, Montgomery; three sisters, Vergie Wright, Red level, Gladys Huckaba, Georgiana and Lucy Kilgore, River Falls; two brothers, Earl Sharpe, Destin, Fla. and Jess Sharpe, Ozark; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. ALLISON KAY WEST Allison Kay West, 22, of Fairhope died Saturday, Jan 29, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Birmingham. Miss West was a graduate of Bayside Academy and a senior at Samford University in Birmingham. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. in Fairhope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Richard Stem of Evergreen .
