It is 4-lane all the way, just about, to the traffic light on the corner of Liberty Hill, Rural, Martin Sts. You will see the Community of Christ Church on the corner ahead of you with a green sign depicting Library pointing left. Turn left at the light, go thru 2 traffic lights and across the RRX and down a small hill behind the City Hall--this will be Cemetery Avenue. The library building is similar to the municipal building and is located on your left across from the Evergreen Presbyterian Church. Hope this will help you. If you need further help, email me at <[email protected]> or call us at (251)578-2670.

    3. I received an e-mail asking if I knew when the Heritage books would be available. So I decided to investigate. This is what I found. The Conecuh Co. book is at the printer and the notation beside it was "estimated date Oct." Hopefully this means it will be available in October. The Escambia Co. book is in "Layout." If I get any new information I will post to the list. 3. If you go to: http://jchitty1.home.texas.net/cemetery I have placed some files that may be of help: Concord.pdf Adobe Acrobat file with a map of the area. Use caution on the tiny roads show on the map as those are dirt roads and can be pretty bad. Church.gif Picture of the concord church mentioned below Place0.gif shows the cemetery from the perspective of the S.E. corner. Where my relatives are buried (Chitty's). Hope this helps. Surnames: Gilmore Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4R.2ADE/909.2 Message Board Post: Charles, You may want to take an alternate route to Concord. When I was last there a few months ago the County and/or State was in the process of rebuilding a bridge on Highway 29 between the cemetery and I-65 and the road was closed. Alternate route: Exit I-65 at Exit #114 and go west on Alabama Highway 106. Shortly after crossing into Conecuh County look for County Road #33 to your left (it will be just before the Bethel West Methodist Church and across from the Bethel West Cemetery). Turn left on CR#33 and go approximately 2 to 3 miles. CR#33 will "T" into Highway 29. Turn left (south) onto Higway 29 and proceed approximately 1 to 2 miles. The cemetery will be on your left at the intersection of Highway 29 and a dirt road. I was told after my last visit that the old Concord Church was down that dirt road and behind the cemetery but I have not personally seen the building myself. The oldest graves are in the center and in the south end of the cemetery. Graves in the north end are much more recent. As I recall, there were several Gilmores in that southern end. Good luck in your search!
