What were the connections between the RILEY - WITHERINGTON - KING families in early CONECUH? 1) There was a WILLIAM R. KING (1822-1848), son of John King & Elizabeth 'Betty' Coleman. His wife was Ursula CROSBY, dau of CHESLEY CROSBY. <all buried @ Bellville Bapt Church Cem. in Conecuh> Anyone know what KING's middle name was? 2) Another WILLIAM R. KING (1852-1890) in Calhoun Co, Ark. <son of John T. King & Martha Caroline Witherington who migrated to Calhoun Co, AR from Conecuh before 1850. Thought to have been named for above (#1 King)> 3) My dad was WILLIAM RILEY KING (1898-1945), born in Calhoun Co, Ark. 4) And me, WILLIAM RILEY KING, JR, born 1934 in Pineville, Rapides Parish, LA. Could the middle name (RILEY) have come from a family connection to the RILEYs of Conecuh??? Please check your RILEY - KING - WITHERINGTON files. Any replies & suggestions will be appreciated. Elizabeth had two sons, John, and George Washington, by this man. Some Robinsons say they never married, but she is Robinson on her tombstone (Huxford, AL) and Robinson on her death certificate. He was married to my ggrandmother, Margaret Wilson, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pa. They had two children, my grandmother Bertha May Zenesta Jenkins and a son. William and Margaret are listed in the 1880 Lawrence County census. They separated when my grandmother Bertha and the son were young. Don't have any other info, maybe this could be a link. Hope to hear from you. Debbie

I will get to the point where I just can't find information and stop for awhile. Tonight I've been on the RootsWeb message board and saw a e-mail between you and Tamara. She and I corresponded last year and I received some very good information from her. I see that your line comes through John Jarvis and Martha Gross, mine comes through John Jarvis and Harriet Nancy Poston. I would like to share information with you if you need any that I have. I would like to have Lewis Boone his wife's family information, just for my family file.Any other information that you may have and will share with me. I am so grateful for these web sites that helps all of us find our ancestors. One of these days one of us will find where old John Jarvis,Sr came from and his parents, etc. With so many searching this is bound to happen, don't you think? If you will just e-mail me at my home e-mail address, [email protected] I am related to just about all these early names,Boones, Moniacs, Allens, Hathcocks, Weatherfords, Elliotts,Elherts, and others, so maybe we can exchange information. thank you, Joan Smith
