Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4R.2ADE/948.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Bryan, I do not have any direct connections to Asbury and/or Concord as far as I am aware of. I just have an interest in the cemeteries being accurately recorded for future generations. I am very much into Cemetery Preservation and especially in anything historical for Conecuh County. Our society, CaneBrake Genealogical Society, is dedicated to the accomplishments in the area by our ancestors. Where would we be indeed without all those who have gone before us? I am presently working on the Old Evergreen Cemetery here in town, doing similar to what you've done--history (Elizabeth Riley's book touched on some of the families), and how they tie into the settlement of Conecuh & surrounding areas. I browse thru microfilmed newspapers, census info, and vertical files to glean information re: individuals that are buried so long ago. I try & keep a file on those I find, and I also want to do Rabb Cemetery out Hwy 31N, and the one I call the Suddith(Thomas-Wilson-Ashley) Cem. off Cou! nty Road 23. That's just for now, anyway! Ha!

    3. Leon, I have some McFarlin family from Conecuh County. When my Great-Great Grandfather P. F. McFarlin died, my Great-Great-Grandmother Sarah (McLow) McFarlin married S. T. Quates and they had three children (George Washington, Nancy and Sarah J.). Quates was a shoe-maker, quite a small man, and one who had a "very rough temper." S. T. Quates had three children from a previous marriage (Ollie, Annie and a third child name unknown). I don't know if this helps you, but I thought I would offer it.
