Viola Geretrude Tidwell was born 13 December 1883 at or near Jackson's Gap, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She died 3 June 1983 at Hattiesburg, Forest County, Mississippi. I don't have where she is buried. Her parents: Elisha Tidwell & Letta Smith All I have is their names. George Washington Sims was born 2 February 1853 in Alabama. Probably in Coosa County. He died 1888 at or near Cowpens, Tallapoosa Co., AL. His is likely one of the unmarked graves in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in the area of Cowpens, Tallapoosa Co., AL. He married Aletha Jones on 11 Nov. 1875 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. Aletha (Jones) Sims was born 8 July 1857 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. and died 10 March 1950 and is buried in the Albertville City Cemetery in Marshall Co., AL. Parents of George Washington Sims were: Vinson Hiram Sims (1828-1901) and wife Sarah Burkes (ca. 1802-unknown) They were married 5 Dec. 1853 in Coosa Co., AL. Ref: Bk. B, pg. 258 Vinson Hiram Sims was born 2 May 1828 in Walton County, Georgia and is buried in the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery about 5 miles north of Lineville, Clay Co., AL. His grave is marked. I don't know what became of his wife Sarah (Burkes) Sims.
