I asked my Dad about your family and he had some remembrances as well. In looking at the info I have here at home. it says' "at the turn of the century, there were about 6 general stores in Owassa". So, we'll have to narrow it down a bit, won't we? I came across an obit in the 1948 newspapers that I'd copied: Mrs. Margaret Perkins, age 91, formerly of Owassa. Is she any relation to your father? You may email me direct and I'll send it to you.
Yes I did! I am sorry. My Sister was here on Saturday, to spend the night and go to Mardi Gras. A family crisis came up and I was unable to get back on as I usually am. I had to rock my great neice lol 6 months old but throughly enjoyed it! SILAS JOHNSON b. March 09, 1786 in Georgia d. Aft. 1860 in Conecuh County, Alabama. He married TEMPIE KELLIE. The Johnson's William P. Johnston/ Johnson is family of William. The P is for Percy. When you see them there then gone. Try typing in Johnston then. And you will probley see them. If you run into something you cannot seem to find I will do my best to look see what I have on them if ya let me know.I have several that I am working on now, but I always keep my eyes out. There is also Gerorge Washington Johnson/Johnston. He is gonna be in the same family line too. Tips: Most the early reports on the Johnstons are Johnson. There are added the T on some and not others that I know as my family members. They in 1850 was listed as Johnson. Yet on 1900, Johnston, with Johnson. They are some that way that are brothers and sisters. So, let me share this: William Johnston, in some places spelled both ways. William Johnston b. 18 jan. 1753 in Goochland Va. d. 26 Oct. 1838 Bibb, Co. Ga. Married twice: 1. Millison S. Hogan - b. 05 Apr. 1814 Baldwin Co., GA. d/o: Isham S. She is often reffered to as "Widow Ballard. b. 1750 Amelia, VA. d. 1770 William and Mary had: Caleb Johnson/Johnston married Nancy Feagin Asa Johnson/Johnston married Eliza Feagin Gideon Moses Rebecca Mary Ann Lloyd Joel Mack I have all the dates of births, deaths, marriages and etc. But this list gets pretty long so, if you wanting some more info let me know. They way I get info with names of the family. I went to an Aunt of my sis and I's. Who shared with me all she could think of and I have searched and researched. I also found a will of William Johnston in some old family papers. The father I believe to William was James but I am still working on that area. As they are from England. And James was killed in England by a Cannon ball. His remains was brought to VA. by order of the Navy and buried. The Johnson/Johnstons then marry into the Cockechanged when coming to America to Cox. Some did some did not. So, that also leaves one with the same sort of issue in finding info on. I always try and verify what i send as Johnston, with family papers I have. Wills stuff like that. However I am as with all of us, can verify some but have to go sometimes too on family infornation. Hope this helps someone. Joyce USGenExchange Co. Mary was born in NC (the same as Washington Johnson). I believe that Washington Johnson is Mary Householder's father. My reasoning is that her daughters has the same names as the females in Washington's household (Elizabeth and Agnes) and because of where she was born. I don't have my information with me but I looked Washington Johnson up in an earlier census and he had a female living with him that would have been the same age as Mary would have been. I have not been able to trace Mary and her daughters, Elizabeth and Nancy after 1860. I was able to find William Householder in the 1840 census and living with him (besides his wife) was a male child. Sometime between 1840 and 1850 they are no longer around. Can you provide any further info on the females of Washington Johnson's household?

Well thought I would share that I got a reply from mr. bush. It was a rather long e-mail trying to explain a reason as to why he thinks this should be. I can say that at some point I believe nothing we say will make a difference anyway, but I figured since I could I will if for no other reason but to say I do not agree. I responded to his long e-mail with just this. No matter how long the e-mail to explain why, you bascially are taking the people who made life as it is today and reducing them to nothing but a name on a head stone. Many never got to live and enjoy what they put into life today so bascially they did what they did for us. And that is how I see it. Nothing but the truth. And very sad to me. Just thought I would share. I found this too. Look through it and if it looks like something let me know. If not let me know too. Still looking though, Joyce John Watson came from York County, SC to Hardin County, TN sometime between 1820 and 1830 along with his wife and children. According to the history of the Methodist Church in Savannah he arrived as a pioneer Methodist preacher and soon after the Methodist Church was organized in the area. As a child, I remember seeing a paper signed by leaders of a church in South Carolina, stating his good character and ability to preach the Lord's work. Sadly, now, the paper cannot be found among old family records. John and his wife, Martha, are buried along with other family members in Watson's Chapel Cemetery, but their graves are unmarked.
