2. Doug & Joyce Severt
3. I am searching for help and am posting a message, in plain text, to each newsgroup that I am subscribed to. Please, can someone that sees each of these from the various groups e-mail me to let me know whether they get them or not so I can eliminate the ones I need to. I have gone to the Covington page as well as Lowndes and see that messages have been posted but I am not receiving them. Thank you all for your help. I am searching for info on the family of Asa A. Thornton who married Nancy Collier. They had a son John A. Thornton who married Sally Sills. John A. and Sally had a son John Erving who married first Rebecca Manning, and secondly, Elizabeth "Bessie" Manning. Any info on the Thorntons will be helpful. My gggrandmother Elizabeth Thornton Sills is one of my brickwalls! She is the mother of Sally Sills Thornton, but how is she related to John A. Thornton? Is A. Thornton whose wife is Sarah the father of Asa A. Thornton? Thank you. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4R.2ADE/832.1 Message Board Post: Hello, Did you get the information you needed on Noah Daw? I know very little about him, but I am researching some Daw family members, too, and Noah figures in. Henry Lee Daw is the individual I am most interested in. I find his name in the 1900 Census for Conecuh County. He is 3 years old at the time. He later married Bessie Golden, my father's sister. So far, that is all the information I have on him. Henry Lee is in the family of J.R. and Ollie (Unusual name for a woman) Daw, according to the 1900 Census. J.R. was born in Dec. 1869 and Ollie was born April 1874. I think the J. stands for James. I find a James R., who is the son of Noah Daw, born 1819/1820, and I find a James, also born 1869, who is the son of Jeremiah Daw, who was born 1827/1828. Do you think there are two different men named James, or is there one James and just a difference in who might be the father? Don't know if you can help, but thanks for your time. Luther Golden

2. Hey, I am currently trying to get that info posted. If you would like you can send me your names and I will take a look. Old Town is simply Old Town Conecuh Co., Al. I found the census at the library and am waiting for my loaner copy to come in. I did get fortunate enough to find my hard to find family member there. But, today was unable for lack of time to run through the copy at the library. Will be goin back though. And hopefully the copy I have ordered will be in soon. 2. I will certianally keep my eyes peeled while adding info I got today. I will also go back to the Library next week. And look more there. There is no fees for services. I do what I do cause I enjoy it. And I cannot see why anyone should pay for info on their families. Nothing makes me angerier than to go to a site, that claims it has my family info and find I have to pay for it. It does cost to keep this info online. And if you would like go to: http://www.genexchange.org and click make a donation. Those help in paying for web-site room and computers and such. If you have a ? there will be a link to GenExchanges owner and you can e-mail her of you like.
