If you have a death date and place you can get a death certificate which should give you his parents names and where they were from. There was only one Mixen in the books and that was from 1715 Virginia land records for a Michael Mixen. These Mixon-Mixson family books stick to those spellings. Good luck! Angie <><

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4R.2ADE/949.2.1 Message Board Post: Debbie, My great-grandfather was a post rider during the civil war. I am not sure of his route but I know he stayed in the Bellview Hotel.....in Conecuh County and married a Gillispie. George Coker is in our Keller family line. I just want to know more about the route that came into Enon Alabama (Butler Street) north of Atmore and where it went. My grandmother said his trips on the stage coach took about a year round trip but I am not sure about that. I know he was in Little Rock sometimes. He left home at the age of 16 and became a post rider. Is there any place that I can find a list of the post riders during that time? I really appreciate your help. Susie
