    1. Re: LEE Convergence
    2. Bill, I have two additions. The marriage of Loverd Lee to Betsy Hill was August 28, 1815, in Johnston Co. NC. I have a copy of their license. The birthdate of Betsy Hill was Feb. 20, 1799. It appears she was a 16 year old bride marrying a 28 or 29-year-old groom. My source for the birthdate of Betsy Hill is this: The Bennett Hill Farm Account Book 3 1/2 inches by 5 3/4 inches--contains entries in handwriting, all mixed together. Includes farm accounts. Came through Bennett Hill family to his son Francis to his son William K. Hill to Emma Susan Hill Scarborough to Janet Rush (Mrs. Raymond Rush--who once lived in Selma, Ala.). I would give my eyeteeth (not really) to find this little book and get copies of every page, but I don't know how to contact the family of Janet Rush. My Loverd was there in 1830 and evidently came with them to Wilcox before 1830, along with the Hills and Ingrams. Then Loverd moved over to Butler Co. near his uncle (?) Edward Lee (of John Lee, Esq.) by 1840. I was trying to correctly connect Long David and Short David's families. I believe I had it all figured out back in 2000(?) when my computer crashed and I lost all my Lee info. I had done quite a bit of work on the Peter Lee, Jr., family documented in his will. I had looked up all census info, etc. I was so crushed by my crash that I was unable until a few days ago to start re-doing, re-researching, re-typing, re-asking questions (have 100s), and documenting them all. Getting Loverd's father John Lee's Revolutionary War pension and finding a typed copy of his will and one for John Lee, Esq. inspired me to start on them again. I always wanted to know the exact connection between my Loverd Lee and Owen Lee, son of Joel and Media. I wanted to know the exact cousin relationships among them all. Lovett Lee received land patents (Document #'s 7152 and 7154 in Wilcox Co) Aug. 1, 1831. Land was in Sec.7, Tsh. 12N, Rng. 12E and also Sec. 13, Tsp. 12N, Rng. 11 E. Neighbors were Mary HILL, BENJAMIN N. LEE [son of Edward Lee--Benjamin N. Lee's land was in same Tsh., Range, and Section as Lovett's but patented a year later on 10/4/1832], Owen LEE (who got his land the same day--his document # in sequence to Lovett's), Matthew PATTON, and Moses POWELL (brother of Loverd's third wife Matilda) [in S7, T12, R12. Neighbors in S13, T12, R11 were James GULLEY, Eaton LEE, James B. LEE, John MCCONDICHIE [husband of Penny Lee], and Allen MOORE. I found that Loverd had a brother named Joel,,,and always wondered about Loverd's grandson named Alonzo B. Lee (compared to Alonzo J. Lee). Loverd was from John Lee, Esq. Owen and Alonzo J. were from Long David. Loverd's 2nd wife Elizabeth Hill was niece of Short David. I hope I got that right. Lees from all three families went to Louisiana (Bienville/Union Parish) I don't know if this William Lee/Elizabeth Ann Westbrook is correct or documented for Long David's parents. Now I have to apply this to Kay's Peter Lees and William Lees. 1 William LEE b: ABT 1751 d: ABT 1774 + Elizabeth Ann WESTBROOK 2 David (Long) LEE b: 17 Jan 1746 d: 27 Aug 1813 + Martha BLACKMAN b: 1815 3 Joel LEE b: 4 Jan 1773 d: 21 Oct 1862 + Medea LASSITER b: 1773 d: 1 Jan 1852 Peter Lee, Jr.'s children are documented in will--don't know where I got his parents. 1 Peter Lee, Sr. - 1739 . +Elizabeth Lundy - 1719 ... 2 Peter Lee, Jr. 1731 - 1804 ...... +Mary Cato 1735 - 1777 ........ 3 David "Short" Lee 1755 - ........ 3 Cato Lee 1757 - ........... +Nancy Holland ........ 3 Peter Lee 1760 - ........ 3 Geain "Jane" Lee 1762 - ........ 3 Lundy Lee 1764 - ........ 3 Burchett Lee 1766 - ........ 3 Rebecca Lee 1768 - ........ 3 Batte Lee 1770 - ........ 3 Mary Lee 1772 - ........... +Bennett Hill 1768 - ........ 3 Betsy Lee 1775 - ........ 3 Penny Lee 1776 - --------------------------------------------- I have more on all of above--just not typed here. David Holmes that had signed Wm Witherington, Jr.'s Ensigns Certificate in July 1813 in Washington, Jackson County, MS (then the capitol of the Miss Territory). *William Witherington, Jr and his family (including his father Wm SR.) migrated to Conecuh County in 1919 from Feliciana Parish, LA.
