My ancestor George Washington Autry and wife Lucretia lived in Tippah Co. Mississippi in the 1840s. Some researchers give her maiden name as Vest, with a 1833 marriage in Tippah Co., but I have not been able to verify that. Their son William Thomas Autry married as his second wife a Sarah Vest or Vess in Colbert Co., Alabama in 1880, and now I am wondering if they were cousins.
