I'm new to the list. I'm researching my GREENHILL's and allied families of WALDRUP, CAMPBELL, MURRELL, WHITEHEAD, DOWNS-GOODWIN, BRANSCOM, PEAK, SWIGGETT BOO, FOWLER, WILLIAMS, TALIAFERRO, BOATWRIGHT, MORTON, ETC... These lines also allied, but may have been in VA alone: CLAIBORNE, JONES, WARD, LEIGH, STAINBACK, RANDOLPH, WASHINGTON, PETTIWAY, WORSHAM, LEWIS, HUDSON, MOHORN, COLEMAN-PEGRAM, ETC... My ggg grandfather, Mantleburt GREENHILL is supposed to have died in Barton in 1854, which would have been Franklin Co at that time. I am trying to confirm that information. He seems to be very hard to locate. I've been unable to local much in the way of cemetery records online. Can anyone tell me the best place to do that. Is there a cemetery book available for Colbert County or have many of the cemteries not been surveyed? Is there any volunteers in the area that will help? If so, how do I contact them. Seems like all the links and email addresses online are no good anymore. Also other records. I assume that all prior to the date (abt 1867?) where Colbert Co came into effect will be located at Franklin County Clerk. Can someone confirm that. The family was in Franklin County, most in the Colbert Co. area after Colbert Co was separated from Franklin Co. Some still in Franklin and some possibly in Lawrence. Some back and forth to MS and then on to TX.
