Darlene, Thank you for you posting. I've tried that several times, even with different spellings. This Landers family seems to be primarily in the Srygley/Frankfort are. I have. Daniel B Landers and Darthula Guyton had the following children: Myrtle born Feb 1888 Maud M born Apr 1889 John Murfey born Apr 19, 1890 May B born May 1892 Millie A born Sep 1893 Albert Monroe born Nov 24, 1894, died Jun 15, 1966 Tuscumbia Malva A born Mar 1898 Willie McKinley born Jan 18, 1901, died Feb 1970 Russellville (Leon's Father) Olen M born Dec 8, 1909, died Jan 1981 Tuscumbia I could find nothing on who the girls married, of course, I haven't sent the papers to Leon and Edith yet to supply more recent information they might know. I also was not able to find information on Darthula GUYTON. I first find Daniel Landers in 1870 Colbert County, Township 5, Range 13 under Frances SANDERS, his mother and brother, Ruebin. In 1880, Daniel is listed under his father, Frank, and Frank's 5 grandchildren. This is under LANDERS and in Srygley, Colbert Co. There has to be a census listing for Frank, Frances, Rueben and at least a couple of other children, since Rueben was born c 1850. I figure Rueben has to be on at least an 1860 census with his family. Thanks again. Cynthia In a message dated 9/12/05 9:36:04 A.M. His great-grandfather is definitely Daniel B Landers (born c1860 AL) of Srygley, Colbert Co. Daniel also had a brother or half brother, Rueben T Landers, who went to Texas between 1880 and 1900. In 1880 I find Daniel living with Frank Landers who I'm assuming is his father. There are also grandchildren of Frank living in the household, Lorna Landers c1869 g-daughter, Chestina Landers c1871 g-daughter, Henry Landers c1873 g-son, Willie Landers c1875 g-daughter, and Ida Landers c1878 g-daughter. Rueben is married living near by. In 1870 the census lists Frances born c 1825 AL, Female, Rubin, 19 and Daniel, 9, but no Frank. So far I have been unable to locate any of them in 1860. The lineage looks like this so far: Frank Landers born c1822 AL and Frances Unknown born c 1825 AL Children: Rueben Landers born c1849 AL Daniel B Landers born c1860 AL Grandchildren (not Rueben's): Lorna Landers Chestina Landers Henry Landers Willie Landers Ida Landers Does this Landers connect to any of the other Landers in Lawrence and Franklin counties? I have found the name listed as Sanders, Londers, etc. and have been through census frames one page at a time. Any ideas out there? Cynthia Chandler East Peoria, IL
