Hi, My name is Bill Gray and my maternal family all came from Riverton (HALL, ELAM). I notice the writer below has shown that Riverton was once called Chickasaw. Can anyone please tell me more about this. In one of my previous references I saw the name Chickasaw, but did not relate it to Riverton. I thought it might be the name of a county. I was born in Tuscumbia and grew up in Sheffield/Muscle Shoals --- now live in California. I will appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you and God bless, Bill Gray ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- edvengrouskie@yahoo.com wrote: Re: [ALCOLBER] Spencers in Colbert County > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg//QS.2ADI/512 > > Message Board Post: > > Tracing the Spencer family from its first arrival into Colbert County (then Franklin Co) in towns such as Riverton (Chickasaw), Cherokee,Tuscumbia, Sheffield. > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ALCOLBER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
