Good Morning All, If you have material contributed or have listed a surname or posted a query to either the Colbert or Lauderdale web site, would you please check your e-mail address. If it is not correct, please notify me. Thanks, Pat
Good Morning Everyone, This notice was on the Lawrence Co TN mailing list. If you are on that list, please forgive the duplication. If you have family in that area, mark your calendar now and plan to attend. Pat _______________________________ The Lawrence County Genealogical Society will hold their sixth Family History Fair on Saturday, June 25, 2005. If you are interested in genealogy, this is a great opportunity to meet new people who are researching on your same family lines. We have had tremendous response to our fair in past years, and hope that everyone will continue to make it a great success. Each year we have had over one hundred people in attendance, with researchers from twelve or more states. Information on about eighty-five Lawrence County families has been displayed on the various tables reserved by researchers. There were also vendors with many books for sell on Lawrence County, Giles County, and other surrounding counties. All who have attended our previous fairs had a wonderful time swapping information. A copy machine will be available for copies of any information you need copied. So bring, family charts, notebooks, photographs, family stories, computers, etc. and join in the fun. If you are bringing information to share with others or books to sale, tables are available for free, but we do ask that you please make a reservation in order for us to be able to determine how many tables need to be set up. Including the surnames of all the families you will have information on or the books you have for sell, will enable us to make a fair directory in advance. If you wish to reserve a table for the Family History Fair, please fill out the form at this website <http://home.lorettotel.net/~lcarchives/regform.htm> and return to the Lawrence County Genealogical Society, 218 N. Military Ave., Suite B-1, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464. The form must be returned no later than Wednesday, June 22, 2005, so we can prepare a directory listing the surnames you will have information on at your table or the books you will have for sell. You may also email or call in the information to me at the address number below. It takes a lot of preparation and work weeks before the fair and on the day of the fair to do this each year. If you would like to volunteer to help on one of the committees listed below, even if you do not live in Lawrence County, please contact the society at 218 N. Military Ave., Suite B-1, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464; phone - (931)766-1576; email - lcarchives@lorettotel.net <mailto:lcarchives@lorettotel.net> 1) The committees are collecting money at the admission table; 2) working at the society's table taking care of new members, renewals and selling journals; 3) working at the books for sale table; 4) set-up and take down committee; 5) copy machine. Each of the shifts are only 1 1/2 to 2 hours and leaves you plenty of time to browse the tables and meet other researchers. If you wish to join the society, you can contact me at the same addresses above or go to this website <http://home.lorettotel.net/~lcarchives/lcgs.htm> and click on Society info and membership form. Hope to see many of you at the Fair. Thanks Kathy Niedergeses, Chair Lawrence County Genealogical Society DIRECTIONS: It will be at the Lawrence County High School in their cafeteria. Hello Pat, I went to the link you sent to do a search for whatever she was searching for to see if I could find the information and the link you sent now has this message listed below. You put in her private e-mail to respond to her that way. I don't do private look ups but I will respond to message boards when I have the time. I guess she found her answers because she had deleted her message. Leaving it up would have helped her to make a contact on down the road.
