Catherine Burnett to William McBride May 19,1885 Colbert County, Alabama I believe this is both second marriages but I don't know anything for sure. I also believe they are connected to my family in some way but I haven't found the link (she lived all around my family for years) but I don't know her maiden name or if she was married before, who he was. I have only this date and some census where shes a widow of his, so I really need help on them. Thank you, Celina Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In what years was this man in the Muscle Shoals area? Was he born there or did he just live there for a while? Can you give general birth and death years - that would be a good place to start. Also, if you know what other surname he used, it would help too. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Looks as though she was married to the Johnson gentleman in the 1860 census - mainly because her children would have been born in 1858, 1859 and 1863 - and I'm searching for that record. 1. Re: [ALCOLBER] ALCOLBER Digest, Vol 2, Issue 23
    2. Fran, Brown-Service sold burial insurance that many people in Alabama purchased in the 1930's ,1940's and 1950's . And many Funeral homes were operated by Brown-Service. People could be buried in a cemetery of their choice. So your husband's great-grandmother could be buried anywhere. If you can provide her name, birth and death dates that would help, as well as where she lived. Many of the cemeteries have been surveyed. 3. There was a Brown Service Funeral Co. in Sheffield from the early 1900's thru the early 2000's. There is still one in Florence, Alabama. Brown Service was owned by a burial Insurance Company, Brown Service. More than likely she was buried in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetary.
