There is some speculation that his father was named Benjamin Allen Adams. Could your Benjamin be connected? The name sure crops up often. Some of my information came originally from Etha Inez Bryan McLaughlin; 204 North Booker Street; Crestview, FL. Her sources of information were: Benjamin Allan Adams Bible; Grady Benjamin Adams Bible; 1850 & 1870 Census- Covington County Alabama; 1840 Census- Marion County Georgia; Harmony Church Cemetery Records and Antioch Cemetery Records. See if this information will help you. If you find a connection, I'd like to exchange info with you. My gggrandfather Alfred/Alford Adams (January 6, 1813-January 19, 1880) was married to Sarah H. Watson (January 4, 1816-August 4, 1887). Alfred and Sarah moved to Coffee County Alabama from Marion County Georgia sometime between 1842 and 1844. They show up in the 1850 Census in Coffee County, but not in the 1860 Census, then show up in the Covington County Census in 1870. Family speculation is that Alfred was in Walton County Florida after leaving Coffee County, and then moved to Covington County where he and Sarah lived for the remainder of their lives. They are both buried there, at Harmony Baptish Church Cemetery. Because Alfred and your Benjamin were living in Coffee County Alabama at the same time, there is a good chance that they are related. The following information about Alfred Adams has been copied from a land grant and two Census records that might be helpful to you in making a connection.
