Posted on: Coffee County Alabama Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Al/Coffee/10518 Surname: Harrison, Davis, Corley or Cawley, Grimes, Garrett, Martin, Wilder ------------------------- William Grancer Harrison died in Coffee County in May 1860 (1860 Mortality Census). In 1867 his daughters filed a petition in Probate Court to have the estate sold for purpose of division among all his heirs. It listed his children as: Elizabeth Hall, Charlotte Harrison, Sarah Adams, Mary Weeks, Frances Fleming, Martha Paul, James M. Harrison, John A. Harrison, William A. Harrison, and Moses Harrison. It also stated that James, John, William, and Moses were all deceased and their heirs would inherit their shares. I found Probate records for James M., John A., and William A. Harrison. All their estates went to Probate in 1864. I could not find any mention in the Probate records of Moses Harrison. However, a cousin, who started work on the family tree about 20 years ago, corresponded with a great-granddaughter of Moses. She stated that he had been killed in the Civil War in Mobile. I descend from William A. Harrison. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know.
