I have seen the state census for 1855 for Alabama. I got my Library to borrow one for me from the National Archives and I used it for about 3 weeks, then they sent it back. That was about 8 years ago but suppose they will still do that. You have to leave it at tha Library that orders it and you go there to look at it until you are through. Good Luck, Evelyn Gassler
