Safronia McCarty was my great grandmother through her second marriage to James M. Howell. She is indeed buried in the Averett Cemetery, but under the name of Frances Safronia Howell. Marion Francis Averett was killed during the Civil War and it is unknown where he is buried. I have heard that he was killed in Barbour Co., Alabama, but I don't know how reliable that information is. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2005 3:10 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ALCOFFEE] Cemetery of Marion Francis Averett & Mary Frances Safronia McCarty This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. They were married in Dale Co., AL, abt 1856. I thought they were buried in the Averett Cemetery in Dale Co., AL, but I was recently there, and they are not. ==== ALCOFFEE Mailing List ==== Come visit with us to research and know our people and history of Coffee County, Alabama.....you will find us downhome and most friendly here.
